American Nicaraguan Foundation

ANF mobilizes and focuses international and local resources to support programs and projects that improve access to -- or the quality of -- education, nutrition, healthcare, and housing available to Nicaragua's poorest communities. Programs are carried out by 2,864 local organizations which receive ANF donations with the support of the local private and public sectors.

Builders Without Borders

An international network of ecological builders who advocate the use of natural, local, and affordable materials in construction. Believe the solution to homelessness is not merely housing, but people who know how to house themselves. To this end, BWB creates educational materials and opportunities to empower communities, organizations and owner-builders.

Cooperative Housing Foundation (CHF International)

Mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate-income communities around the world, helping them improve their social, economic and environmental conditions. Our reputation is built on the strong relationships we have with the communities we serve--engaging and involving them throughout the development process through a unique methodology that keeps control and ownership in their hands.

Design Corps

Mission is to create positive change in communities by providing architecture and planning services. Vision is realized when people are involved in the decisions that shape their lives, including the built environment. Community service program brings the skills of recent architecture and planning graduates who provide technical assistance to communities in need. Primarily serve small rural communities composed of low-income families who do not have access to the technical services needed to shape their physical needs.

Domes For The World Foundation (DFTW)

Mission is to improve the lives of people worldwide through the introduction and construction of Monolithic Domes and EcoShells for personal and public use. Initiate and coordinate efforts to alleviate storage, shelter and housing shortcomings. Seeking out grants and donations to fund construction of permanent, affordable, sanitary, and safe structures for those who have none. We will train local peoples in our methods of construction and transfer the technology.

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI)

A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Heavenly Housing

Non-profit believing that adequate, permanent housing will sustain volunteer efforts to areas that have suffered widespread damage and will require years of rebuilding. Heavenly Housing will allow volunteers to experience the joy of giving by providing this lodging. Organizations that provide temporary initial housing options are necessary, timely, and appreciated! Heavenly Housing will compliment their efforts in housing volunteer workers for years to come and that Heavenly Housing will develop housing programs and methods of disaster response for future events.

Homes for Our Troops

Strongly committed to helping those who have selflessly given to their country and have returned home with serious disabilities and injuries. Assist severely injured Servicemen and Women and their immediate families by raising donations of money, building materials and professional labor and coordinating the process of building a new home or adapting an existing home for handicapped accessibility. All services provided by Homes for Our Troops are at no cost to the veterans served.

Manna

Serving low and moderate-income families, assisting them to fulfill the dream of homeownership. Since 1982, have created and preserved nearly 1,000 units of affordable housing for low and moderate-income DC residents and our homeowners have accrued over $60 million in equity. Their financial literacy and homeowner training program has been replicated more than 200 times across the nation.

National Low Income Housing Coalition

Dedicated solely to achieving socially just public policy that assures people with the lowest incomes in the United States have affordable and decent homes.

Salvadoran American Humanitarian Foundation (SAHF)

The Foundation hopes to encompass all the aspects of human development by building several communities that will benefit nearly 15,000 earthquake victims. Most of these communities will have access to new schools, clinics, parks, and police surveillance – giving the residents an added quality of life that they did not enjoy before.

Shelter For Life International

Called to serve those in need by "sheltering the poor wanderer." Shelter plays a critical role in creating or restoring a sense of dignity, security, and hope for the future. Commitment to "shelter the poor wanderer" remains the essential focus of our programs; however, They have expanded our programs to incorporate comprehensive, grassroots projects that enable beneficiaries to rebuild not only homes but entire communities in order to fully restore their lives.

Village Earth

Empowers communities to sustainably access and manage the resources needed to achieve their vision for the future by working directly with communities as allies, distributing appropriate technology information, as well as providing training, consultation and networking services to individuals, communities and organizations around the globe.
